My roommate Becca works for an awesome company called {3 Cords} that was  founded "to train, employ, and empower Haitian amputee women and their families." {3 Cords} sells beautiful bags, hair cords, and other accessories for $5 to $35 that are handmade by women in Haiti. One of my favorite things about their products is that each one comes with a tag signed by the woman who made it.

Greetings, loved ones.

Hi again. It's me. Back to apologize for taking what turned out to be a three week long break from the blogosphere. I've spent the past weeks doing some pretty fun stuff but mostly staring at my computer screen, drinking iced coffees, and praying for a job. It's hard to blog (or read or practice guitar or do anything, really) when I know what I should be doing is updating my resume and writing cover letters. But since we're being realistic, how long can a person be expected to apply for jobs without going absolutely bananas? B-A-N-A-N-A-S.

This weekend, I was lucky enough to see a lot of friends who I've been missing. Abby and Guion stayed with me and Jill and Sarah were in town for a concert. On Sunday, I went to Pinehurst for my friend Danielle's HUGE wedding and got to see a lot more people. More pictures here.

Oh happy day! Abby and Guion are here for the weekend and the Olympics begin tonight. Every couple of years I'm interested in a wide range of sports for about two weeks. This year is no different. I plan on spending the weekend in full red, white and blue outfits cheering for team America. And going to my last wedding of 2012 on Sunday (I even bought a blue dress for that).

I'm at the beach until Friday trying to control my excitement about the Olympics! Oh, the perks of summer.

Yep, that seems about right. I'm coming up on one year of being meat free (despite a couple of turkey sandwich setbacks around Christmas)! Most of the time it rocks and then other times all I want are some damn nuggets. 

Daytime fun.

What a fun week so far! The top 4 pictures were taken at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh. I'd never been before but took the girl I babysit and we had an awesome time. The bottom 4 pictures were taken at my very first Durham Bulls game. I can't believe it took me almost seven years  to see the Bulls play but I'll definitely be going back soon.
